Materials: glass jars, two plastic mallets, newspaper, metal lunch box
Step #1: I found a jar and two mallets and started to hit the bottom of the jar. It made a pretty cool sound.
Step #2: So I got 3 more different sized jars and hit those on the bottom. OUCH! The sound was too high pitched and ear-piercing so I put some newspaper between the jars in a tin lunch box. The lunch box was to make the sound a little louder but not ear-piercing when the newspaper made it soft.
Step #3: I started to play the jars and it sounded like a train speeding up and down.
Classification: The Jarz would go in the percussion section because it has a head you hit and a body to help make the sound louder.
