THE BOING by Mateo Br.     The name of my instrument is Boing because if you strum one rubber band it sounds like “Boing”. My instrument belongs to the percussion family and it is also a chordophone; percussion because one thing hits the other and produces a sound, and chordophone because it has rubber bands and they vibrate. The materials I used to make my instrument were 10 rubber bands, 1 piece of wood, acrylic paint, some color paints, little balls, a hammer, 20 nails, caps, a ruler, a pencil and a paint brush. In my project first I painted the wood with acrylic paint using the paint brush and let it dry. Then I drew lines to separate the colors. My sister and I started to paint the wood with different colors. After that, I put some pieces of wood under the places where I was going to put the nails. I hammered the nails into the wood. I cut the rubber bands and I put some little balls and the caps into the rubber bands. Finally my sister helped me  tie the nails.
