MUSICAL-O-BOX

The name of my instrument is “Musical-o-box” and it is called like this because its parts make different sounds. This instrument belongs to the string family because it makes sounds with the rubber bands like strings, and also belongs to the percussion family because hitting the little boxes with a metallic stick a sound is produced. To build this instrument I used a big box, colored paper, beans, rice, lentils, some pasta, metallic things, rubber bands, pins, water colors, scotch tape, and glue.

To build my instrument I cut the edges of the big box and painted inside with some water colors. Then I put grains and pasta into the small boxes, and I wrapped them with colored paper. With the help of my mom I put the rubber bands on the four small boxes and we fixed them with pins on the top of the big box. In another box I made a hole and put the rubber band like a string, and glued it on the base. Finally my father helped me to break some metallic things and to hang them inside the box and to use one of these things like a stick. We covered the entire big box with red paper and decorated it with musical notes.
