SPOON-LO-PHONE
by Juan Ignacio R. I named my instrument “Spoon-Lo-Phone”. It belongs to the percussion family because the spoons produce sounds when I hit them with a drumstick (olive spoon). The sounds vary depending on the size of the spoons, the places where you hit them and the place where the rope is attached; these produce all the sounds and notes that a percussion instrument must have. I named it like that because it is made up of spoons so I put it SPOON; I also put it LO and PHONE because of the xylophone that is also a percussion instrument: I found the name very interesting and funny. The materials that I used for this project was a wooden stick cut in three, 5 spoons, a piece of rope, an olive spoon, 2 pieces of wood, hot glue, and some garden plants for decoration. To make my instrument my mom and my dad helped me cutting the stick and attaching the pieces with a rope. Then my dad and I attached the spoons in the wooden stick with a rope. After that I pasted the sticks with hot glue in the wooden pieces so that they can support all the sticks and the spoons. Finally my mom and I decorated the instrument with garden plants because it is natural and rustic, because I wanted my instrument to be made up of natural things. |
