The “Youtube” is a percussion and string instrument combined, like a drum, xylophone and guitar, made from wood, paint, plastic cups, duct tape, rubber bands, string, balloons and copper tubing.

It is a member of the string family because plucking the strings causes them to vibrate producing its sound. Each of the rubber bands is a different thickness, changing its pitch. The thicker the rubber band, the lower the sound and the thinner, the higher.

It is a member of the percussion family because tapping the top or sides of the cup with a pencil or your hands causes the balloon top to vibrate producing its sound. The copper xylophone also has tubes of various lengths producing high and low sounds as well.
