Materials: Coffee can, guitar string, wood, tape, aluminum foil, beads, nail Procedure: I put the nail on the piece of wood and I poked a hole in the coffee can. Then I put the guitar string with a ball end through the hole and wrapped the other end of the string around the nail. Then I taped the wood to the coffee can and decorated it with the aluminum foil and beads.
How it makes sound: If I pluck the guitar string it vibrates and the coffee can amplifies the vibrations. The pitch is changed by tightening or loosening the string. I tighten the string by pushing the wood away from me and I loosen the string by pulling on the wood. The volume is changed by plucking harder or softer. |
