For the construction of my “santouri” I was inspired by this Greek traditional musical instrument itself.

I used two pieces of wood, three nails, nineteen screws and some fishing line.

First, I took a rectangular piece of wood and screwed upon it another smaller piece, over which the cords would climb.

I wrapped the threads (in groups of five, eight and six) around the nails and pulled them enough to reach the other end of the wooden surface over the vertical  wood.

Each string should have a different length and it should be also wrapped around the screw-keys placed crosswise.

My musical instrument has a soft sound but I enjoyed the process of making it.
