How I made my instrument: I used several lengths of old pipe. I put the 2 long pieces of pipe together with a shorter piece by using pipe corners in order to make a long "U" shape. Then I put 2 long and 2 short pipes together, using pipes corners, to make the base. I attached the "U" shape and base together with the remaining corner pipes. Then I drilled 10 holes through the top pipe. Next I drilled holes into 10 pieces of pipe and attached string through their holes. Finally, I attached the 10 pipes to the top pipe with the other ends of the string, placing them from short to long.
How my instrument makes a sound: I run my fingers along the pipes, the pipes bang into each other and vibrate and that makes the sound. |
