How I made my instrument: Cut a piece of cardboard 6' by 30'. Staple it to form a circle. Take the remaining cardboard and cut 2 strips to make an "X", place it in the middle of the cardboard circle and staple it. Next, cut plastic wrap into 2 circles, make sure they are larger than the cardboard circle so that they go down the sides about 1". Tape one circle over the top of the drum frame. Tape the other circle over the bottom of the drum frame. Finally, cover the side of the cardboard circle with gift wrap; secure it with tape or glue. To make the drum sticks: Cut 2 thin strips of cardboard, about 12" long and cover them separately with black electrical tape. How my instrument makes a sound: I use the cardboard strips and strike the top of the drum. |
