The Sound Maker This instrument is made out of a toilet paper roll, rubber bands, a tin can and beans.   It is a member of the orchestral string family. You can pluck the rubber bands to produce sound or use a guitar pick. To make a higher sound, you pull the string tighter and to make a lower sound you loosen the string. To make a loud sound you pluck the string harder.   To get softer sounds you pluck the string softer.
