"Side Blown Flute" by Nichol

My parent called a friend who's a plumber and he gave us the pipe. We went to a lot of stores to find the cork and finally found one at Home Depot, but it was too big so we had to take it back and get a smaller one.

Mom measured and cut the pipe with a hand saw. Then she marked where the holes needed to be. Dad put the pipe in the vise and drilled the holes. I filed the holes, put the cork in the end that you blow in and painted it.

A friend that used to play the flute showed me how to blow in the top hole at the end of the pipe to make the sounds. You can change the pitch by moving your fingers on and off the holes.
