John First you need spray paint,
rice, wrapping paper roll, needles, tape and
regular paint. Then my Dad and I spray painted the
wrapping paper roll, then we let it dry for about
30 minutes. Then I painted designs on the roll.
After that my sister and I stuck needles in the
roll. Finally we taped one side of the roll and
poured the rice in the other side and taped the
side and the rest of the roll. It took about 1 1/2
hours total to make this instrument.
The sound is produced when
you tip the roll slowly or shake the role
fast. You can change the sound
characteristics by tipping it slowly or shaking it
fast. The rattle stick can't change pitch. The
timbre is like rain when you tip it but when you
shake the roll the timbre is like a rattle sound.
The dynamic of the rattle stick is
soft. |
