The Chopstick Drum

My instrument is called: The Chopstick Drum. My Grandpa helped me make the drum. My Grandpa went and bought the rawhides. My Grandpa sawed the wood after I showed him how big I wanted it. He used a hot glue gun to put the pieces together. Then my Grandpa and I measured the rawhide. Once my Grandpa and I got that done my Grandpa and I tested it.

The outside of the drum was too big so my Grandpa went outside and sawed like an inch off. Once my Grandpa and I got the rawhide on the drum I put 11 shiny copper tacks on all of the sides and nailed them on. The time it took to build my drum was 4 days. The materials I used were feathers, rawhide, wood, and tacks.

Sound is produced when the chopstick taps the drum.

If you want to have loud dynamics you hit the drum harder. If you want to have soft dynamics you hit the drum lighter. To make the pitch low you hit the drum in the middle. To make the pitch high you hit the drum close to the side.

For timbre my drum sounds like someone knocking on the door.
