The Fabulous Flute

First my dad and I went to Home Depot to buy the PVC pipe. Second, I went to my Grandpa's house where I measured and cut the pipe with a saw. Then my Grandpa drilled the holes.

It was very hard for my Grandpa to drill the holes because the drill kept slipping off the pipe when Grandpa was on the fourth hole a piece of pipe slipped. So we had to start all over by measuring, cutting and drilling a different piece of pipe. It took about 40 minutes to complete the flute.

To decorate it I tied a string to the flute so my dad could spray-paint it. It took two coats of red paint. One day later, after it dried, I put string around it and fastened it with glue. I used blue, yellow and orange strings.

To make sound you blow into the flute. To control the dynamics you must blow lightly to make a soft sound and blow harder to make a loud sound. To change the pitch of my instrument I place my fingers on different holes to produce high and low sounds. The timbre of my instrument sounds like a whistle.
