The Feather Shaker

I named my instrument the Feather Shaker. My mom helped me make it. First I asked my mom if we could go to Wal-Mart to get the correct materials. It took me about 3 hours to finish my project. I need fabric paint, an empty coffee can, colorful ribbon, felt, glue and small objects that make noise for inside.

First I glued the felt to the coffee can. Then I put the colorful ribbon with glue. After that I put like little things that make noise, like beans and dimes. Next I put the fabric paint on the lid. It looked really cool. I let all of that dry for an hour. Then I put the feathers on. I let it dry. That is how I made my instrument.

The sound is produced when I tap the like and when I shake it. I shake my instrument hard to make the dynamics loud. To change that I shake my instrument soft for it to have a soft dynamics. To change the pitch I tap the lid on the edges for it to have a high pitch. For it to have a low pitch I hit the middle. I cannot change to pitch when I shake it, it is impossible. I think the timbre of my instrument is klunky and klinky.
