Rattlesnake Shakers

My instrument's name is the Rattle Snake Shakers. The materials I used for them were two empty milk jugs, rice, beans, silk cloth, and different kinds of ribbon. First of all my Grandma started by showing me how to put on and glue the silk cloth. Then I tried it and I finished putting on the silk cloth. Then came the hard part. My Grandma put on the ribbon on the top and bottom and I did the ribbon in the middle. After all that stuff it was time to put in the rice and the beans.

In one shaker I put in rice and the other one I put in beans. My Grandma and I both did something but she only did a little and I did a lot. It took an hour to do both of the shakers because I had to put on the silk cloth and let that dry before I could put on the ribbon with both of them.

The sound is produced by shaking the instruments at the same time. For dynamics if you want to make it loud shake it really hard; if you want if soft shake it slow. For pitch if you shake the rice it has a low pitch and if you shake the beans it has a high pitch.

For timbre the beans sound like hail hitting a steel roof and the rice sounds like someone is pouring rice into a big bowl. They're also very noisy too.

Now you have some facts about my Rattle Snake Shakers!
