My instrument is called Katelyn's Super Saw Blade Chimes.  My grandpa helped me make it.  The first thing that I did was find some old saw blades to use.  Next my grandpa cut off the sharp parts on the saw blades while I watched him.  Next I used the electric sander to smooth out the saw blades.  Then I found some little pieces of wood.  My grandpa showed me how to make the little wood pieces smooth by using the drum sander.  Then I took over.  I used the drum sander to sand the wood smooth.  Next my grandpa found some scrap wood that looked like a little table for my stand.  After that I drilled holes in the stand where the saw blades chimes went.  I used the drill to do this.  Then my grandpa showed me how to find the center of the wood pieces by using the vice grip to hold it.  Next I drilled holes in the center of the wood pieces with the drill.  After that I used the screw driver to screw the little wood pieces to the little stand.  Then I put the saw blade on my little wood pieces.  The last thing I had to do was make the hammer that hits the chimes.  My grandpa found a skinny piece of wood and then again I used the drum sander to make it smooth.  After that I found a little piece of wood and then I drilled a hole in it.  Then I put glue on the end of the skinny piece of wood and put it into the little piece of wood that is the hammer end.  That is how I made Katelyn's Super Saw Blade Chimes.

My instrument's sound is produced by tapping on it.  I use the hammer to hit the saw blades to make sound.  I can use both ends of the hammer to hit the saw blades for sound.
