N. The instrument was made with copper pipe supended
in a wooden frame. Copper pipe was selected because it is
a good conductor of energy. Yarn was used because it is
light weight and a poor conductor of energy. The copper
pipe was cut into 6", 12", 18", and 24" lengths. The yarn
was threaded through the pipe and secured to a wooden
frame. It produces sound when the copper metal tube is
struck, causing the tube to vibrate. The vibrations
travel through the air as waves. The waves reach your
eardrum as sound. The copper tubes are suspended on a
yarn string. This creates a fuller vibration. If the
copper tubes were not suspended they would make a dull
vibration. The pitch is low, medium and high.
The name of my musical instrument is Wind
Song.
