THE COFFEE DRUM   by Athena B.   My instrument is called The Coffee Drum. I got the idea for making my instrument from the T. V. My instrument belongs to the percussion family. One interesting thing about my instrument is that you can play different pitches.   To make my instrument you need the following materials: a coffee can, a tube of paint, a piece of paper, and some glue. I made my instrument by taking a coffee can and washing it out. Next you paint a piece of paper and paint it any color of your choice. Then you wrap the paper around the coffee can. Finally, you use decorations of your choice. One person who helped me was my Dad! My Dad helped me by gluing the paper around my coffee can. The biggest problem I had making my instrument was it kept falling apart.
