JACOB'S "MARACA"

Jacob R's "Maraca"

My instrument is called "Maraca". I got the idea for making the instrument by myself. My instrument belongs to the percussion family. One interesting thing about my instrument is that it was made from simple materials but together it makes a great sound.

To make my instrument I used rice, tacks, pennies, glue, an empty bottle and macramé cord. I found my materials in different places of my house.

First, I cleaned the bottle. Afterward, I started the assembly of the instrument by poking several tacks into the rounded parts of the bottle to hold the macramé cord. After I was finished with that, I glued some parts of the cord. After the glue was dry I put in rice, a couple of pennies, and a few tacks. [optional] You can keep the cap uncovered so you can put more things in it later or you could wrap the top with macramé chord. The biggest problem I faced was wrapping the bottle with macramé cord. No one helped me make my homemade instrument.
