The Egg   by Sophia C.   My instrument is called the egg. I got the idea from Mrs. Williams, my teacher. My instrument belongs to the percussion family. It is interesting because it is shaped like an egg. It was originally going to be called the lunerflagel.   To make my instrument I used flour, balloons, water, and newspaper. For the decorations I used paint, glitter, glue, glue gun, beads, sticky paper and foam stickers. I found my materials in the kitchen, garage and art closet.   I made my instrument by covering my balloon with ten layers of paper mache. Paper mache is a combination of water and flour. If you want to make a cup of paper mache, use one-half cup of water and one-half cup of flour. One person who helped me was my Mom. Mom helped me decorate because I didn't know what to do and I kept burning my hand with the hot glue gun. I think the hardest part of this project was decorating because I had so many options and I didn't know what to use. I also think the hardest part was waiting for the balloon to dry because I couldn't wait to decorate.
