The Basket Harp

BASKET HARP

The name for my instrument is the Basket Harp. I got the idea for my instrument imagination. To build my instrument I used an old basket that had a lid on it, rubber bands, paint, beads, screwdriver, and some glue. I found most of my materials mostly in the basement but others I found under my beds and in the kitchen on top of the fridge.

The order I assembled my instrument in was:  first I unscrewed the lid then I painted the basket blue, green, and yellow. After the first coat of paint dried I added another coat to thicken it. After that coat dried I added different beads. Last, after I glued the beads, I added giant rubber bands to go around the basket so it is a basket harp.

My instrument belongs to the string instrument family. My instrument produces its sound by someone strumming its strings. My instrument can make six pitches; the pitches make high and low, soft, twangy sounds.

I made the instrument all by myself with no adult's help. The biggest problem was finding the right basket and where I should find the huge rubber bands.
