Co-co-nut Eggs

CO-CO-NUT EGGS

By: Mark R.

The name of my instrument is Co-Co-Nut Eggs. I got the idea for my Co-Co-Nut Eggs from horseshoes because they make the same sound if you clack them together. The material I used were coconuts, drawer handles, and spray paint. I got my coconut at Agrusa's and found the other materials at home.

I used a saw to crack the coconut. I used a knife to cut out the coconut meat.  To decorate I spray-painted the coconut halves silver and green.

My instrument belongs to the percussion family and it makes a horse clacking sound. The sound is produced when the edges clack together. I also can hit the edges on the floor. The tone quality is clacking sound. My volume of the instrument is loud.

My dad helped me make my instrument. He was the one who sawed the coconut. The biggest problem was the saw because the parts flew everywhere.
