ONE HANDED DRUM By: Gwyneth F. The name of my instrument is the
One-Handed Drum .I got the idea of making my instrument from
a website when I was searching for a homemade instrument.
The materials used to make it were duct tape, pencil, butter
container or a rounded container, string, four beads, and
confetti. The tools I needed to use were a knife to poke
holes in the side. The steps I use
were: 1. Cut three holes in an
equalateral triangle. 2. Stick a pencil in side the
top of the "triangle" 3. Tie a bead to one side and
sick it threw the other holes that are left. 4. Tie the other two beads on
the out side and their, you're done! All you have to do is decorate
it. I decorated it with confetti in the middle. You
could also decorate it with tape. The instrument
family that mine is in is percussion. The beads on
the side of it produce my sound. I can make around two
sounds; you could do more but its not that much different.
The tone quality is a pretty sharp noise. My instrument is
loud. The person who helped me with
this project was my mom. She helped me tie the beads on.
(The strings get very short and thin). The biggest problem
with making my instrument was putting on the beads and
strings.
