SNOW CHIMES By: Emma M. My instrument is named Snow Chimes. My inspiration was from an instrument I saw online and I thought it was easy to make. I had heard chimes before and I thought they were beautiful. The materials I used were silver washers, multi-colored yarn, a stick, and white felt. I got all my materials at my house. I got some of the supplies from Micheal's last year. The stick I found outside. All I needed for tools were glue, tape, and scissors. My steps were to cut the yarn, tie it to the stick, and tie the washers to the stick and glue and tape to the stick. I decorated it by painting clear sparkle nail polish on the washers. The instrument is in the percussion family. The sound my chimes makes is a soft clinking noise. It makes that sound by moving them together. It can only make one sound. It is more of a high sound. It is very quiet. I assembled the chimes all by myself. It was easy to assemble so I didn't need help. The biggest problem was making the knots tight. |
