STEP-A-PHONE By Jake H. My instrument is called the Step-A-Phone. I got the
idea from snooping around my basement. In making my
instrument I used wood, curtain rods, and the metal rod you
put on top of curtains. I obtained the materials in my
basement, and I used a saw, nails, and a hammer. First I cut the wood and metal into different lengths.
Then I used the hammer to nail the boards to the metal. To
decorate I spray-painted the wood red. I have a percussion instrument that I bang on to make
sound. There are three different bars on my xylophone that
play three different pitches. There are different tones that
sound like metal banging together. The sound can get pretty
loud. My dad helped me by cutting some of the metal. The
biggest problem was probably figuring out what types of
nails to use.
