My dad and I made this instrument out of a big water bottle. Then my mom went to the store and got a chamois cloth and string for the drum. The first thing my dad did was he cut the top of the bottle off so it looked like a drum back. Then I put the chamois cloth on the top and the bottom of the base of the drum. Then my dad poked holes all around the chamois cloth with scissors….I helped with this. I then used a paper clip for the needle and string to string it around the drum. I put the stamps on the top of the chamois cloth and then wrote African Drum in the middle. Then I colored the Home Depot paint stirrer red, green and blue.
My instrument changes dynamics when I hit it hard and soft. |
