The Slide Whistle My dad and I made it together. After I found my pattern my dad and I went to get the right amount of pipe and wooden dowel at the Home Depot. I got the mouth piece from a new years party blower. Then I checked the pattern over and I marked where the wooden dowel and pipe would be cut. Then my dad cut the pipe with a hack saw. I cute the wooden dowel with a coping saw. After we had the pipe and wooden dowel cut, I put the wooden dowel inside the pipe. Then I put the party blower mouth piece on the end of the pipe. The sound is produced by blowing into the party blower mouth piece. I can change the pitch of the instrument by moving the wooden dowel up and down inside the pipe with my hands. The slide whistle makes a squeaky loud sound.
